Did Jesus drink water when He was fasting for 40 days?-- It says Jesus fasted in the desert. It doesn't say he completely and totally abstained from food.

Did Jesus drink water when He was fasting for 40 days? Quote: Matthew 4:1-2: 1 Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2 Jesus fasted for forty days and nights. After this, he was very hungry was there streams in the desert? Or did Jesus carry water and if so will it last for 40days?Or was Jesus not in need of water?

Another thing that I was wondering about is that you can only last three weeks without food, yet Jesus almost did double that. How? It doesn't say he completely and totally abstained from food. When you are fasting during Lent, do you stop eating entirely? I don't have the source in front of me but I believe water (unless needed for health reasons) was once included in the pre-communion fast. But I don't believe it would have been eliminated from a seasonal fast. The point is, all "fasting" has to be put in context by type and time period. There is fasting that consists of limiting (types of) food to (a) specific time period(s) in a day for one or more days.
